Service Fees & Information

Code of Virginia § 17.1-272

In-State Fee-$12.00 plus $12.00 for each additional Person/Corporation/Firm.

Out-of-State Fee-$75.00 plus $75.00 for each additional Person/Corporation/Firm.

All out of state documents will be returned with a notarized affidavit attached and are served Personal Service or Not Found unless specified by the sender.

Return service will be forwarded to the appropriate court of jurisdiction, citizen, business or firm requesting service.

When sending paperwork to our office for service, please send an original and copies.  We serve the copies and will mail the original back to you with our Affidavit. Also, include a self-addressed stamped envelope, so we can mail the served paperwork back to you.

All fees for serving documents must be paid in advance by check, cash (walk-in), Money Order, or through the appropriate court of jurisdiction. If paying with Cash in person at the Sheriff’s Office, please make sure you have exact change.
